Why did we call this site Truth & Transformation?
The story begins with the belief that our world is broken and cannot fix itself. We have tried and failed. Poverty and injustice are the norm for many communities, and even in developed societies contentment and harmony are elusive. So what is the solution?
We believe that without truth there is no solution. Without truth, there are no absolutes. Nothing is certain, and everything is relative. Without truth, man’s fate is in his own hands and he must decide with his own eyes what is right or wrong. Without truth, man must put his hope in human goodness and progress, and yet history shows we are bent towards selfishness and evil. What hope can we have?
This website is built on the supposition that the truth is indeed knowable and is revealed in the Bible and person of Jesus. That reality is as painted by the words of Jesus below:
“The thief comes only to steal and kill and destroy; I have come that they may have life, and have it to the full.”
If these words of Jesus are true it has radical implications for the way we view the world in which we live we live. It rewrites the problem and the solution. It implies that that poverty and brokenness are not primarily consequences of insufficient resources or education, but rather a consequence of an enemy seeking to steal, kill and destroy. It implies that God’s intention for us is “life to the full” and that Jesus came to make this intention a reality in peoples lives.
If the Bible is true, than there is much to discuss. What does life to the full look like? How does the enemy operate? How does change happen, and what role do Christians have in this?
We desire to see Christians engaging with communities in ways that glorify God and bring lasting transformation – people living productive lives of fulfillment: spiritually, mentally, emotionally and physically. This website does not have all the answers but we aim to publish articles and resources that help point us towards Biblical truth and align us with God’s purposes and ways for us.
That is why this website is called Truth and Transformation, because we believe truth is necessary for sustained and holistic transformation. That you cannot have the one without the other. The name “Truth & Transformation” is also borrowed from an excellent book by Vishal Mangalwadi who gave us permission to use it for our website.
